What data is collected

When you request the CV or the letter of recommendation through the download form, the following is processed:

• your full name;
• your company;
• your email address;
• which document you requested;
• the date and time of the request.

No other personal data is requested through the form, and the site sets no advertising cookies. If — and only if — you accept analytics in the consent banner, the tool described below additionally collects usage data. The site is not used to build marketing profiles.

Why it is collected and the legal basis

The data is used solely to (a) provide the document you asked for and (b) notify me that the download took place, so I understand who is engaging with my profile. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in understanding professional interest in my work, and taking steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b) GDPR).

How it is handled and retained

Your submission is delivered to me by email through the email provider Resend (Resend, Inc.), acting as a processor. The details are not stored in a database on this site; they exist only in that notification email and are kept no longer than needed to respond to your interest. There is no marketing use and you are not subscribed to anything.

Analytics (Microsoft Clarity)

To understand how visitors use the site — which sections are read and where people click — this site uses Microsoft Clarity, a product-analytics service provided by Microsoft Corporation, acting as a processor. Clarity collects usage and interaction data (such as pages viewed, clicks, scrolling and general device and browser information) and may capture anonymised session replays and heatmaps. It uses cookies and similar technologies to recognise a session. This data is used only in aggregate to improve the site; it is not used for advertising and is not sold, and Microsoft may process it in line with its own privacy terms.

Clarity loads only after you give consent. Until you select “Accept” in the consent banner, Clarity is not loaded and sets no cookies. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG); you can withdraw it at any time with no effect on prior processing. To change your choice later, use Privacy Preferences in the footer of any page. Declining, or later withdrawing, stops Clarity and clears its cookies.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and you may object to its processing. To exercise any right, email contact@andybutz.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
